I've had shingles before. Hurts like hell when the blisters begin to fill up with molten lava.
OP its bloody cold out at the moment even juts putting the bike in the car - i have taken a flask of tea on last three rides just to drink when i get in the car and an extra fleece. Its still only Feb (just)
Sorry to hear this, I understand it's a bloody awful thing to have.
It's not the nicest but I guess in the grand scheme of things there's a lot worse.
IME, Shingles goes something like:
"Phew, glad I caught it early, it's only a small patch - should clear up in no time".
"Why isn't it going? It's not hurting though - why do people say it hurts? Jessies"
"oh, yeah - I suppose I can feel it now.... doesn't really hurt though - maybe I'm just really tough?"
"oh wow, yeah that really hurts now"
