I did not know this thingy exist till I got a chance earlier fiddling with 3series I-Drive and asked for stamp book service history like from normal cars. My question is.. are only BMW dealer can upload to this computer whenever the car has service or can Independent VAT garage can update this system as well?

If only BMW dealer service allowed to update this electronic system..that kinda create a monopoly innit? ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Quite a few chips on Pistonheads have ordered an official BMW service book for a tenner so they can record a history outside of the BMW dealers.

It's just another way to keep your car there, a bit like the condition based servicing introduced where things like the pollen filter have their on service light / schedule. Gits.

Merc offer online or book servicing, not both on the same vehicle.
If you opt for the online and it's not updated, you loose the History (unless you keep the receipts)

I had a Mazda about 6 years ago and they didn't have a service book either
