[Closed] Blunt hair clippers, bin or sharpen?

So I've only just realised (through using some brand new, but very cheap, clippers that were my Dad's that he never used) that my c.10 year old "BaByliss" hair clippers are actually very blunt, despite oiling and cleaning them fairly regularly.

Question is, what to do with the old ones - can they be re-sharpened or just better off to bin them and get some decent ones? They weren't megabucks in the first place from what I recall but would still be preferable to renew rather than bin them if possible.

Any hairclipper experts on here? 😉

Used to use a Wahl set for shaving without the gaurd on. I unscrewed the clipper head and sharpened it on a flat stone worked ok but never like new. Just got a new set from sainsburys £11.99 down from £59.99 that are ceramic and hopefully wont need sharpening.

I got a set of "professional" Wahl clippers from 1 of those hairdressers suppliers shops.

Last for ages. Much better made.

I had gone through a couple of sets of the cheaper ones from Boots.

Cheers for input chaps (presumably!) - will look into spending £ruinous on some decent ones.

My Wahl ones are 20 years old and still fine. Now I don't know if I'm bald cause its so blunt it pulls everything out or if its because they are a really fine cut. Will be able to judge as got a new set for my son. The party game of choice tomorrow will be to shave every body somewhere!

Got a Wahl set, every year order a pair of new blades and put the old ones in the metal skip at the dump
