Looks like they are finally seeing sense and are considering scrapping the trams project.

You would build and equip about one ERI without any running costs roughly

trouble is they have spent most of the money now.

Can't see them scrapping it now, too much money already spent and would probably cost a fair chunk to scrap it now.

This debacle is one of the few things I'm glad to have missed with working outta town.

There are so many things that seem wrong with the project, but the main thing I really cannot understand is why they didnt build from the airport to town, first rather than having islanded parts all over the city. At least they could have had part of the system running and generating some cashflow by now rather than only leasing the trams out to another council.

Having talked to some senior Belfinger guys. They are just astounded at the council. But are gagged as part of the contract so cannot comment to the papers.

Wait until the contract is over they are probably gonna rip the cooncil a new one.
