Meet Gibbs. Now 5 months old but just arrived in the UK. I think he's going to be a bit epic.

Yup. Barbie wanted a rescue dog. She already has taken on 14yr old dog with dementia as she couldn't bear the thoughtof him dying in a cage. This one is to replace the three dogs that died over the last year and she wanted a pup so she could teach it to fit in with the cats. Could she find a rescue pup in the south of England? No.

So Gibbs came from Romania last weekend. Chipped and all his shots plus a passport. Top dog it seems to me.

Gibbs looks like he’s going to be a barrel of fun. Second vote for Mrs eddiebaby being brilliant

Me and Mrs Eddiebaby have been happily estranged for 15 years. We were best mates before the wedding and are still after the split. We're not divorced, I introduced her to her new partner and I often pop round to help with dog sitting and pet care, but there isn't really the right words to describe what we are to each other.

She has always been awesome. Me? I'm an asshat.

We've just adopted some cats from Crete, the state of animal welfare over there is appalling.

Just chiming in to say that I've had a terribly stressful week and am starting a well earned long weekend.  I've just read some fantastic human story and have been treated to pics of dogs and occasionally Specialized Enduros.  Thanks for bringing an overdue smile to my face guys!

Sprocket takes his child guarding responsibilities very seriously when he's not out in the countryside!

No pictures because I’m rubbish at tech but just for balance we have a Romanian rescue hound and she’s a frikkin nightmare. Reckon she was psychology damaged when living on them mean streets. Barking at pretty much anything all the time, defending the wife and the house to a point where people have stopped coming over as she just barks, growls and lunges at pretty much anyone who doesn’t live here... even goes for our eldest as she maybe sees him a threat??

Chases the cats to a point where one looks like it will bugger off to live somewhere else now.

No one will take her now so we are up shit creek for going away as a family....ever!! Even the wife’s sister who was instrumental in us getting the thing and promised that she would love to have her for weekends, holidays etc now won’t.

The wife still adores her though and would never consider getting rid!!

Weve had several dogs over the years and they’ve always been ok but I’m not enjoying this one and am seriously hoping she calms the **** down. I will say for the record that I’m no dog wisperer though so maybe it’s just me that can’t figure her out?

Sorry about the rant and the melancholy but it touched a nerve. Anyway I wish the OP all the best and the dog does look quite nice.

Sorry to hear that donks. Gibbs was in the rescue centre almost from birth so he has been looked after and socialised with other dogs for a few months. As a result he is great with other animals, dogs AND cats.

To be fair Lola was only about 9 months when we got her and the centre insisted she was good with cats and kids as this was our brief but hey ho!.
