Well... new year, same old tedious blowing of my own trumpet.

Just thought I'd share another big print done for a Christmas present. This was a Ramsbottom landscape commissioned by Andy for his wife, both of whom are pictured descending Holcombe Hill, with the Flying Scotsman pulling into Rammy station, then Scout Moor Turbines and Manchester in the background. This was printed and framed absolutely mahoosive. 😀

I intend to keep this thread going until the end of time, you know?

That's awesome, my son would love that - it's got everything: trains, bicycles, churches with clocks and windmills!

Needed a UFO to really finish it off. 😀

Nice that, what does HEAPS mean on the side of the Scotsman's tender?

Blimey! PP nails it again!

And so the endless stream of self-promotional consciousness continues in its tedious 'everybody look at me' manner. Yawnsville. New and excitingly for 2017 - I've had the routings out, for a selection of greetings cards going to print this week. Soon to be seen in discerning bike shops near you. Possibly......

Just thought I'd post this one up, as my Spitfire illustration had gone down well. I drew up a Hurricane to accompany that and the Lancaster, to finish off my Battle of Britain memorial flight illustration

It also qualifies for the 'aaaaaaargh my eye' thread 😀

And so the ceaseless self promotion continues. I've been slacking of late, but I'm particularly chuffed with this one

A commission thats just winged its way to its new owners and recently presented to them, and an absolute pleasure to do.

Commissioned by the riders to say thanks to the guys at Imperial Cycles in London, now bowing out after running the winter race series for 11 years.

A bit different as its track racing so I had no landscape to work with, so tried to get an element of speed into it. Looks lovely all framed up at 50 x 70cm 😀

Another original binners commission, an unoriginal idea blatantly nicked from these pages but adapted to show Summerseat Viaduct, Holcombe hill (with me aboard bike + dog) Scout Moor, Winter Hill and the Reebok in the distance. A heathery, greeny grey colour scheme to match the local terrain and a bit of geographical bastardisation et voila...

I told you I'd keep resurrecting this thread. And seeing as I've been away on my hollybobs, and haven't drawn owt for weeks, I've got the felt tips out again. So here's a picture of the Ardeche. Its very purple 🙂

I really must take a pic of that in situ! It's about the desk I use when working from home. And it always raises a smile/wistful check of calendar for when we're going back.

Without wishing to be a Binners Fanboi (I assume that would make me a Greggs?), not only is he tip top with crayon in hand, he's also a lovely fella to do business with. The whole process from me sending Ads some random photographs to this final print was really enjoyable.

And it's also accurate; that's me at the back 🙂

Once again, a huge thank you to everyone who's bought prints, and commissioned work, and generally kept me out of mischief in what has been a busy, and absolutely fantastic year. The last of the Christmas commissions went out of the door yesterday, so its beer and football time 🙂

I seem to have been neglecting my flagrant self-promotion of late. This simply won't do. So here goes......

A lot of you will know it. A new take on a familiar landscape. And another piece of geographical vandalism. Rivington Pike, with Steven and his son up at the top, the Pigeon Tower, Winter Hill, then the view over Angelzarke Reservoir, across Cheshire with Snowdonia in the distance </span></span>

Ace. Plenty going on but oh so simple (with a bit of, as a previous caller describes, 'geographical bastardisation'). I think I need to get you over to the Holme Valley / Huddersfield - just need to the excuse to spend some money.

What would you suggest would be included in that image Scuttler? I may well get on to that next week, as this is the only time of year when I get chance to just do my own thing and just have a crack at doing images 'just because....'

Emley Mast, Castle Hill, Holme Moss, West Nab to Deer Hill skyline from Wolf Stones or Helme Edge (see below), banana trusses of the John Smiths stadium where United got turned over (ouch - roll on Saturday :-o), the massive weed-burning chimney and gasometer near the stadium, some generic Victorian reservoir engineering.

Some mountain bikers in normal helmets poised to shred.

And a big dose of geo-bastardisation.

Absolutely love it, cheers Ad 🤙🏻

And so it continues.....

Its like Groundhog Day, isn't it? Will he ever shut up about himself. Just thought I'd post this up because I'm well chuffed with it and its not bike-related for a change. A big old Deltic 55 diesel engine. Done for the East Lancs Railway Diesel Rally. I bloody love drawing trains!!! 😀

Ah, the East Lancs famous Ekranotrain. Should be in the "is this the future of locomotive design" thread!

Sorry to be a bit factitious, I actually prefer the train designs to the planes, I think it's something to do with the larger blocks of colour look better to me than the planes with the edition of camouflage pattern detail.

I know that you've all been thinking "I wonder what Binners has been up to lately' so, to stop you all losing sleep, I thought I best update you. Amongst other things, I've just finished this one. A commission for the wife of a big Senna fan, for her husbands birthday. An illustration of the man himself in a McLaren Honda MP4 the legendary qualifying lap at Monaco 1988. I'm quite pleased with this one 😀

And four years after the commission, it's up! Never one to rush things with the house you know 🙂

This has been a brilliant last few weeks. I've wanted something special for a while from our resident art blokey

http://www.adamrowlinson.co.uk/

So i asked him to do a design for the wife as a present. It was of course of our lad, the initial photo was taken from his Enduro race at Forest of Dean and the first pic was presented into an Alpinesque scenario as that's the place my lad has most enjoyed his riding. However, certain aspects of the pic didn't work for me, so after several discussions we came up with what i wanted different in it.... It was more trees, different colours and integrating Les Gets red into town.

It took a couple of minor edits again (he's a patient boy) and we have the finished article which is now being sent out to print/framing in 80cm x 60cm to be mounted on the wall

It's absolutely perfect now IMO and has been a brilliant experience getting it done.
