Has any other MTBer had popliteal artery entrapment issues?
My R foot suddenly started going numb while riding, then it started happening walking to work, then it started going blue in the shower and having odd nerve symptoms. Doctors found lower blood pressure in the problem ankle, ruled out autoimmune and diabetes, diagnosed Raynauds. I wasn’t convinced and irresponsible googling turned up this popliteal artery thing which apparently affects cyclists - basically your calf growing squashes the artery and nerve to the lower leg and foot. This fitted as it all started after ramping up riding and building leg muscles.
Stopped riding for two months and it started going away, yes! Have recently started riding weekly again and it’s coming back, crap.
GP is not convinced as it is rare, but no other explanation has been forthcoming yet…
Anyone else had anything like this?
