Anyone gone on a bike holiday with their better half that doesn't cycle? What did they do, and where was it?

Normally I would get a morzine trip in with the lads, but this year money is tight so that won't happen. I'm thinking maybe a drive down to the alps with the wife, maybe 2-3 days riding whilst she uses a spa and chills out.

Tenerife, get Daz at Lavatrax and leave her at the all inclusive you will be out from around 8 till 3 .HTH (although I don't think he does high summer because of the heat)

Mrs Pondo doesn't cycle much at all, but we did a couple of camping holidays on Il de Re and Il d'Oleron on the west coast of France, scenic, safe cycle paths and essentially flat. Gentle pedal to the beach, day of lounging, reading and bathing, then back to the tent for wine and cheese - boom. ๐Ÿ™‚

I did the Mega one year and took the family.

Been to the Alps and Pyrenees with the road bike a number of times, and went to Scotland this year.

I tend to get out most days though don't take the p.

But then I do the same at home.

I make sure I know the areas well enough to know what there is for my wife and kids can do whilst I'm out and about.

Mallorca works for us. Self catering or hotel in Pollenca (or Port de~), Soller, even Palmanova. It's perfect for road cycling and if you base yourself in the right place, not bad for a bit of mountain biking too. Plenty of bike hire places (Tramuntana Tours in Soller and Pro Cycle Hire in Port de Pollenca have been excellent). It's got all the trappings for a family holiday too. I just get up early and ride til late morning. The closer to summer we go, the earlier I get up ๐Ÿ™‚ If you go down this route, give me a shout and I can point you in the right direction if it'll help.
