OK, plans have changed somewhat and MsD is now coming along. Can anyone reccomend a bike holiday Co. in Spain that will also have enough to keep her happy whilst i'm out on the bike?

Have been to the Costas and hired bike/guide from Alan @ Sierracycling whilst MrsT lounged on the beach. Train runs all the way along the Costas coast so easy for days out. We went along to Malaga. Other plus point is being barely an hour from the airport as opposed to 2-3hrs shuttling into the mountains.
Would love to go to Basque but a trip to Canada is being saved for(no biking tho ๐Ÿ™„ )

Sierra Cycling in Fuengirola. Being in the town everything's in walking distance such as the brilliant zoo, beach, castle, shops you won't even need a hire car. Alan Biddulph runs it and owns the house where you stay, he's lived there for 20 years and can advise loads of non cycling activities or even ways to meet up during a ride.

Sierracycling is certainly an option - i've been before with them, plus as you say it's on the beach!

Yeah. 1st time I went I got the train up to Alora and cycled with Jim from ????? who is no longer there.
2nd time was with Alan & co, got a guide to myself which was good, was on a transition day when others were leaving/arriving. We stayed along the coast a bit but he recommended the hotel opposite his place if we go again, forget the name tho. Sure he will be along soon!!

+1.

I mean, you wouldn't fancy going on some sort of re-enactment week away if she was into that sort of stuff would....Oh..

It's a holiday, it's not fair to expect her to sit about or do stuff while you do your stuff.

Why not spend some quality time with your partner - or is your bike more important?

Hehe , its actually her idea! She does ride but isnt at the level she needs to be to enjoy such a trip. She does fancy lounging around a pool all day though!

Can't see why she couldn't give it a go with Sierra Cycling. The last time we went we had a complete novice (female) with us who managed most of the trails without any problems...

Likewise ๐Ÿ˜† MrsT goes on holiday for a rest, not to get too carried away with all the touristy "must see/do" cliched stuff. Thats why I suggested a hotel and not sierracyclings base. You can then choose/arrange what days you want to ride. I also chose to hire a bike rather than take my own for however many days I got to ride, keeps it all flexible and its not as if you are away all day, usually back by 4/5pm
Her first mtb holiday was to Verbier and she really enjoyed have Lucy & Phils chalet to herself for most of the day. She was quite ill at the time and came home feeling refreshed. She enjoyed the company on that trip which included Chipps, Drac and Steve Wade of Orange fame ๐Ÿ˜†
