The son of a friend was recently knocked off his bike by a driver entering a roundabout he was already on. He spent a few days in hospital with head injuries and his his bike is a write off. He will be unable to resume work as a Deliveroo rider for some time. This was a temporary job due to being layed off due to Covid a week before the furlough scheme was announced. There were no witnesses to the accident but the police have had a word with the driver and suggested to my friends son he claim for damages through a claims recovery/ ambulance chasing firm.
Does anyone have any suggestions of firms they have used and/or would recommend?

Why aren't the police prosecuting? Without a prosecution or admission of guilt getting a payout will be a massive headache (worse than the one he's got at the moment I would guess). British Cycling might be able to make a recommendation too.

The burden of proof for a criminal prosecution is much higher than a civil claim for damages, it's actually pretty unusual for an injury claim to be totally dependent on a Police prosecution.

Based on my experience using Slater & Gordon at the moment, Leigh Day - or, frankly, anyone else - sound a good option.

Leigh Day weren't great the time before last but Bikeline were really good. Definitely recommended.

I had a very similar accident last November when a car drove onto a roundabout & knocked me off my bike ๐Ÿ™

I used C-AMS who are dealing with my claim.
I had a new helmet within 2 weeks & a new bike within a month.

I couldn't fault them, they were very efficient & they have now got a firm of Solicitors to pursue the personal injury claim. They have confirmed that I will get 100% of the claim.

I hope your friend is back on the mend soon, it took me months to get back to a position to ride a bike & I still have issues with riding on the roads in traffic.

I'm using Slater and Gordon ATM for a serious injury claim. My bike and kit was replaced under household insurance, the claim is for injury and uninsured losses. So far so good though end of next month will be the incidents first anniversary. Delayed primarily by Covid-19 and local plod going super slow on providing info.

Based on where I am ATM, I'm happy to suggest S&G.
