I think it is filmed before a live audience in the studio, so that clip only sounds odd because the actors wait for the laughing to die down before they carry on with the next line - so you will lose the continuity,

If you watch a better made comedy- say, Fresh Prince of Bel Air- that was filmed the same way, it doesn't have that same stop-start feel, though.

I simply don't find it funny at all. Maybe I'm less geeky than I thought.

The Fresh Prince of Bel Air..what a pile of croc. In your face predictable, not clever = not funny.

I love it, just finished downloading what has been shown of Series 6.

As for the bike, that would be far too scary for Sheldon.

Dunno but he really reminds me of Barry Shitpeas.

Last episode was a doozy and one for fans of the real BBT 😉

This is for BoardinBob and cheers_drive.

Bazinga!

My girllfriend and I like it but she likes it less now I've adopted Sheldon's "Penny Penny Penny Penny Penny Penny Penny Penny Penny Penny Penny Penny Penny Penny Penny Penny Penny..." replacing it with her own name.

I've watched a bit of it but never really got into it. Not too sure why, but I think it's just that the geek conversions just don't quite ring true. It's like xkcd, just trying that fraction too hard.
Maybe I just need to watch more of it, but I think I've just used up my quota of US sitcoms.

So good I needed to say it twice.
Here's a picture of a kitten as compensation -

It's pretty dumb tv, but Bernadette makes it worthwhile. She is approximately a million times hotter than Penny.

Never been able to watch a full episode because it's crap. No matter how fit Kaley Cuoco is I cannot endure the canned laughter and one liners of the majority of American Comedy.

^this

I like my US stuff a bit less predictable. It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia is a real hidden gem

As lightweight sitcoms go its pretty good. Its probably not so great if every in-joke goes sailing over your head.

Also, baby armadillo!

It's not that geeky though. Even ordinary people can appreciate it. Comic roles they may be, but not far from the truth. It's nowhere near as clever as IT Crowd but it's still fun.

IT Crowd: smart show abut dumb people
Big Bang Theory: dumb show about smart people.

I still think IT Crowd S2E1 is one of the best bits of sitcom farce ever written, up there with Fawlty Towers. S1 was better overall with Chris Morris rather than that fat overdramatic bloke i forget his name..

The humour has nothing in common with BBT. Also UK shows usually know when to end, US shows nearly always get run into the ground..

I've only recently discovered BBT, but it's highly addictive, for the comedy and Penny and Bernadette and the ever growing list of extra characters who appear that make you go "He/she was in...oh, what was it called...."

I think of it as a lightly smuttier version of Friends for geeks, and my wife hates it and storms off upstairs when it is on cos she hates Friends!

Re the IT Crowd I hugely enjoyed the 3 series. The one that makes me laugh the most though is 'The Work Outing' episode. Brilliantly acted 🙂

yeah mate that's the one i linked a little bit of above.. almost perfect 24minutes of comedy for me too there.. didn't even know there was a series 3 might have to check it out, nervously!

I'm trying to think of a US series that didn't get shit after first few series.. Six Feet Under was probably only one i've ever stuck through.
Things like Earl, Dexter, Breaking Bad all started great and turned soapy and meh.
