anyone done/doing this? is there a thread about it? might be doing it with some mates, interested to get some info from someone who knows the different routes about what to expect, trying to persuade mates do go up at least one difficulty level on the options. ๐

nobody at all?
Do you remember the ride you did with me a year ago in New Mills/Hayfield? Well, I would imagine the route will be similar in style but maybe even slightly harder as there are even more hills to climb. Will be good fun though but it depends on how fit your mates are!
i remember it very well - was a fantastic ride! ok, sounds good - mates are pretty fit, just have to do a little gentle persuasion and they should be good for it. cheers. ๐
Aye, I'm doing it along with a couple of other mates. Opted for the Ultimate 40 miler. Not sure whether that was a wise decision but I'm sure it will be great fun if not taxing.
Not sure on the circuit/route but I would have thought it will climb out of Hope and take in sections detailed in the Dark Peak Mountain Bike Guide Book (V Graphics), Hope Cross, Win Hill, Ladybower, etc, etc.
Be interested to know if anyone did this last year and what the Extreme 34 mile route was as it would be good for a training/reccy ride.
Last October it was Edale, Hope Cross, Potato Alley, Rowlee farm, Nice run down to Ladybower, Fairholmes across & up, Cutthroat Bridge, Back up again, Hope, Broken Road, Hollins Cross Edale. Lovely day out if the weather's nice. Looks like they've added a bit more this time (Beast maybe?).
You could decide at each decision point whether you felt like doing the longer option or cutting it out. Very well put together.
oh that's good that you can gauge it as you go. i said to my mate i'd rather we went for the ultimate and had to bail than went for one of the shorter ones and weren't tired enough when we got back. ๐
i have no doubt we're up to it, just the way they've described it on the site makes it a bit off-putting for the timid, but i guess that's deliberate to filter out the heroes!
