No need for that Richpips. I was sitting here smugly in the 7000's ๐
I'm I being really dim here but surely the lower score the better by reaching the elusive 2048 tile?
As in the least number of moves to achieve it?
Argh! And I had such big plans for today.
Get to 256 every time and can't get past it..
Very good game.
My best 3xxx after about 10 goes
Wife has one go and gets 5xxx
11yo son has 2 goes and gets 5xxx
Fail.
Impressive richpips
i've got to say rich, i was a little apprehensive opening this thread this morning in case someone had beaten my score....looks like my morning might now be less productive than I thought! ๐

Yes, there must be a "perfect" minimum score for acheiving the goal.
My last attempt below I've got all the tiles required, they're just in the wrong place.
So frustrating !
Just one more go.......

my best is still 512. I'm imagining the strategy is to keep the high tiles as close as possible?
Highest score is first time round was 2000 something, with the biggest tile about 512 I think.
Trying to get the lowest possible score is a good challenge too.
2nd time round 1024, with a score of about 10,000. Theres a method I feel.
Why you posting this game ... ๐
4520 so far.
Must beat everyone ... must win ... must win.
... 6204 and counting ...
2756, 256 biggest tile
11520 so far..
I have been playing threes! As per Jamie's recommendation. My eyes are bleeding, but I must has *one* more game...
Nnnneeedddd toooo wwiinnn ... 8412 so far with 512 being biggest tile.
mmmuuusstt wiiiinnnn ... 9912 with one 512 tile.
I need to wwwwinnnn ... 13,468. Biggest tile 1024. I need to sleeeppp...
The lowest score wins as I said above.
Between that and Limmy's game 'jumping' that's a few days lost this week.
14388 at the moment
15364 and RichPips can keep the crown
I need to build my new bike up today now I've just spent 20 mins on this game grrrrrrrr........eat ha ha
I managed it last night, but while I was running around the house with my shirt over my head, I forgot to screenshot it.
No idea what the score was. Just before I did the final combination of the last 3 pairs, it was 18,xxx
I even dreamt about it last night! All those sliding doubling tiles...
Managed to fluke my way to 1024 with a nice clear board but got too excited and bollocksed it up.
Bah!
I will win arrghhh .
16,256 with big tile 1024.
16,932 + 1024 tile. ๐ก
Must win.
Right, got all my ducks in a row and the 1024 tile is on the board.
What can possibly go wrong?
Arse...
while I was running around the house with my shirt over my head,
๐
Also in the 1024 club.
almost managed it, got the system sussed now, I think. 16608 top score so far.
A humble 512 one my first serious attempt, but I am now unhappy, as it is unlikely I shall now be able to work.
Curse you, stw.
I've had the 1024 3 times on the run now ๐
15668 top score...
Thats it,I'm done.
Maybe just one more go...
1024 and 14,088 top score
nearly there, the trick is to work methodically from one side to the other and always making sure the numbers from the side you're working from always stay in ascending order.
I broke formation at the end trying to link the 256's and blew it.
Not sure I can be arsed with it again, tonight.
If you decide to work from the side I worked from, never press the left arrow or you'll lose.
I hate you!
I can get past the 512 tile and a score of about 6000.
This despite many,many tries.
Am I thick?
Like Banana says, it's about getting one row with your big numbers in ascending order, and adding to that.
My problem is i'm seeing pairs everywhere i look when not playing the game. "Yeah, two bananas, better slide those together to make four."
AAAAARRRRGGGHHHH!!!
So close.
I had the bottom row lined up perfectly with 1024, 512, 256, 128 in descending order. Above that I had the 64 and the 32 in the perfect positions (64 sitting above 128, 32 next to 64). All I had to do was make another 32 and I was home and dry.
FATAL error was to move the tiles left thus allowing a ****ing 2 into the third row above the 128. Cue rapid and terminal decline.
I need to go outside now...
i used a similar method to the above..
keeping all the biggest numbers on the bottom row.. and the biggest number always in the bottom left corner and adding towards that..
so if you have a 1024 tile in the bottom left.. the next along will aim to be a 512.. then aim to build another 512 next to that by building 2 256's it really helps keep free space to keep it sequential like that..
and then never pressing the up key.. press the up key even once and its game over pretty much. (though i did use it right at the end)
in my system it also helps majorly to keep the bottom row full at ALL times.. this helps keep the big number in the bottom left..
its especially tricky to get rid of a number when you've got say a 512 or 1024 tile in there as it uses up a valuable free space from the rest of the board And it makes the row above essentially become your 'bottom adding row' losing you even more space.
and if all that made any sense... ๐ ๐ฏ
My method exactly, spacehopper.
Build the bottom row, L to R in descending order with the row above R to L in descending order. And NEVER press the up key.
Good lesson on game-playing heuristics for my Advanced Higher Computing class tomorrow...
Just tried this method, kept the furthest right in ascending order and tried to keep it full at all times. Didn't press the left key once and also tried to keep any full columns in roughly ascending order also.
