OK, so I am bored...
What are you top 3 best ever Zombie movies & why?
dawn of the dead (70s version) -just coz of the genius of seting it in a shopping mall
28 days later- kickstarted the genre again
zombieland -bill murray is in it
i)Evil Dead 2 - gore and sillyness but horrible zombies, Bruce Campbell on top form. Also has my favourite camera shot ever.
ii)Day of the Dead - baddies being eaten by the tame zombie they were experimenting on? Awesome.
iii)Planet Terror - gore and gore and gore and Rose McGowan with a gun for a leg.
psa the walking dead starts on channel5 next month ๐
dawn of the dead (70's) return of the living dead re-animator.all great films (admittedly re-animator isn't strictly a zombie film/more frankenstein)edit completely agree about evil dead films (fantastic! ๐

i love the comics i cant wait to see if the tv series is as brutal and harrowing!!
Am I wrong for loving the Resident evils?
.

It is amazing. I watched it on FXHD. Highly recommended.
Just picking 3 is tough...
I'll go with these:
Evil Dead 2 - it's hilarious.
28 Days Later - I know they weren't really Zombies as such but I think it counts. The deserted London scenes - awesome. And fast, running zombies, I think this was the first to do that?
Zombieland - Watched this recently and really enjoyed it. Woody Harrelson is brilliant, Bill Murray(!), Emma Stone is hawt.
Original night of the living dead (1968?). Proper zombie classic.
Zombieland - pure funnies.
I am legend - quite liiked it myself, although not everyones cup of tea
Return of The Living Dead II
The remake of the mall one is good too.
28 days/weeks both excellent.
Whassat Spanish one, "Rec"?
I liked the remake of Dawn of the Dead too.
Resident Evil movies are a guilty pleasure, so bad, yet so good!
Am I wrong for loving the Resident evils?
I like 1 and 2 but not seen the others ๐
Dead Snow +1
Rec was rather scary
But mine would be
Zombieland
Dead Snow
Doghouse (which would be even better in Danny ****** Dyer died)
Yes Al, [Rec] is pretty horrible!
Dawn of the Dead - I prefer it to Night of the... Just 'cos it's more fun.
Zombieland - Because it's sheer awesome. Spoofs should only be allowed to be that good.
Evil Dead 2 if we're allowing the Evil Dead films, though I wouldn't really classify them as zombie movies to be honest.
Walking Dead is really, really good. First episode awesome, second troughs a little bit then it picks up for the rest of the (short) season. Not *quite* as harsh as the comics, it'll be interesting to see where they go with it...
World War Z is an awesome read if you like words.
You saw The Walking Dead is coming to channel 5?
channel5 has some excellent american tv at the moment
breaking bad
justified
sons of anarchy

Has anyone read Zombie Britanica? I thoroughly enjoyed that, good scary book.
Oh, having just looked for it on amazon, appears I'm in a minority, having enjoyed it ๐
So when's season 2 of the Walking Dead going to be on FX or whatever it was on before?
Any Asda advert ๐
So when's season 2
๐ฏ Boy how out of date am I, I have only just spotted the trailers for the first season on C5!
So when's season 2 of the Walking Dead going to be on FX or whatever it was on before?
October or November this year, apparently.
Shaun Of The Dead wins hands down.
I totally forgot Shaun of the Dead! How could I?! Excellent movie.
Romero's Dawn of the Dead (although the sequel does a decent job, still Zack Snyder's best film) is a classic, better than NightOTLD I think.
Shaun of the Dead and Zombieland are great too.
The Happiness of the Katakuris - epically bizarre Japanese zombie musical ๐
Original version of "Dawn of" for reasons already given.
"Zomie Flesh Eaters" for that eye vs door splinter scene and the zombie vs shark part near the begining.
"Zombie lake" and "Zombie Holocaust" for just down right base level Zombie aceness.
Oh and Walking Dead was very, very good. I tried to get so many others to watch it, but as soon as you mention zombies everyone seems to switch off and dismiss it as cartoony rubbish, which i wasn't at all. And i thougt we had heard the last of Andrew Lincon after Teachers.
BF
Sean of the dead
Zombieland (just for the woody quote "I'm not great at goodbyes, so that'll do pig")
28days later
Bought this from a petrol station last week. Night of the living dead remixed with a dance soundtrack. No, I've not watched it yet! ๐
Not strictly zombie films, but gotta add Braindead and Bad Taste
Evil Dead (original one) for sheer unintentional comedy
Rec
Shaun Of the Dead
Dawn Of the Dead
Honourable mentions -
Dawn of the Dead remake, Zombieland, Planet Terror, The Walking Dead (as others have mentioned, not has harsh as the novels but still not pretty grim)
