I’m sure it’s been done before but the comment about Katy Perry not being able to sing live got me thinking.

For me, British Sea Power at the Brum Academy or Ocean Colour Scene at the same place. Pendulum also deserve a mention but I don’t think I was quite drunk enough to fully appreciate them.

The Greenman festival was great, even considering the mud, Black Mountain, Alela Diane, Cave Singers, Pentangle, Iron and Wine were all good.

Killers in Dublin was top of my gig list for last year. Supported by Bloc Party who were pretty good too 🙂

Sigur Ros - Bristol Colston Hall - truly mind blowing!
Second choice would be either James (Colston Hall) or Primal Scream (Carling Academy)

Saw more gigs last year than in the previous decade (due to inability to bike)

Highlights were:

Tom Waits in Ediburgh
Nick Cave in Sheffield
Goldfrapp in Leeds
Bruce Springsteen in Manchester

Looking forward to

Tinewara (or however they spell it)
Hamell on Trial

But guess this year will be less as now back on bike and spending cash on that

Has'nt been one for me. Instead I got to escort my daughter to the likes of Escape the Fate. Eliot Minor etc etc all year. But she was 16 a few days ago so I can just leave her to it now.
And I'll be dragging her to P J Harvey in April to give her a proper musical ed-u-mication.

EOTR festival was good - Mercury Rev esp, but Flaming Lips in Belfast was best of this year - brilliant, what a show!

Fantastic[/i]

Git! Sorry, just jealousy. Saw them at Live Earth @ Wembley, but only a few songs - still the best on the line-up.

Killing Joke, [s]Town & Country Club[/s] The Forum, October.

Always helps is your lead singer is several marbles short of a bag.

Bon Iver were pretty good, haven't seen many this year.

Clutch are always brilliant, if you get a chance to see them go.

Linkin Park @ the MEN, hotly followed by the Foo's again at the MEN.

Best outside gig was without a doubt ELbow in Del' Forest, truly anthemic outdoor stylee songs there

Spiritualized, Glasgow ABC. I've seen them about 7 times and this was the best I've seen them. Seasick Steve there early last year was good too.

DezB - Original lineup played T in the Park 2008. As for gigging again - anyone's guess.
