Being called “Alpha”

I had a strange moment today where my wife and a friend of hers both referred to me as an “alpha male”. I was surprised and said that I definitely did think I was “alpha” at all, they said “no, you definitely are… but not in a bad way.” Which was odd, because I genuinely can’t think of a good way to be alpha. I’m pretty healthy, quite assertive about things I think are important, but alpha? That feels like it belongs to Jordan Peterson, Andrew Tate and that ilk. I don’t really mind much, sticks and stones etc, but what do you lot think and feel? Does the word alpha need to be reclaimed? Can alpha be good?
