I once got to close out the Jeremy Vine show, this was in 2012, Diamond Jubilee.

I called in immediately and spoke to the researcher, and she loved the idea of it being the Pistols. And then the segment aired. Cue lots of retired major-generals huffing and puffing for about 30 mins, then Jezza got me on the line....
He built me up well beforehand I must say and I just went with the flow....I was quite blasé, explained that anyone born in the late 60s would know the lyrics, they were part of the national consciousness and I was surprised that this was even a question.
Off I went at his prompting:

yeah, Im a big fan of his radio show, but man he can talk some absolute nonsensical shit,tbf a few in the audience and rest of the panel were much worse
