[Closed] Baby sitting - what's the going rate?

We've a 16 y/o coming over this weekend to sit in with our 14 month old from about 18:00 until 22:00. We'll put him to bed so it'll just be a "give us a call if you have an issue" sort of arrangement.

What should we be paying?
Cheers!

I usually pay £5 an hour. We use a couple of sitters and they have both asked for this rate so I guess this is typical.

About £7 an hour for us but that's been using a qualified child carer from the nursery rather than a 16 y/o.

£6 an hour for a mate's daughter. Higher rate because she has a horse to maintain 😉

£5/hr was our usual rate, and either take them home, or pay their taxi.

£7 per hour for ours, one of the girls from juniors nursery. She pays for her own taxi home out of this.

My daughter gets £5 an hour from the neighbour. Not bad as the kids are always in bed, so she does her homework or uses all their data limit 😀

Think it depends if you're planning on getting home before your wife/husband and banging her/him.
