Um, can I just point out that you and you wife aren't definitely actually having anything, you might be though (it's why it's generally not a good idea to find out the sex in advance). The bodies QA/QC process is very rigorous indeed.

For similar reasons it's a little premature to choose a name before the big day.

You'll just have to trust me here.

But no harm in thinking ahead.

(By the way, if you're saying what I think you're saying, my heart goes out to you and yours)

Trying to be different for difference sake doesnt work.

It only works if the parents ARE different and the child is developed/picks up their personality.

Borin parents trying to be different leads to a bullied 'interstingly named'child.

Stick to standard names IMO and give child a crazy middle name.

Pieface yes.

My two are Polly and Elsa.

But Elsa was nicknamed Beans even before she was born as there wasn't a single moment in the 9 months my wife carried her that she wasn't trampolining or something in mum's tummy. Hence Jumping Beans, full of Beans, baby Beans, she was and always will be Beans.

Hence Polly also became Polly Peas, and the two together are Peas and Beans.

baby girls names?

What about Womens names. After all, she'll be one longer than a baby/girl. 😉

We called our daughter Jessica. Generally it's to Jessie, Jessie-Rose, Jess or Dove (as the purest white dove landed on the car just as we were leaving for the hospital the morning she arrived) 🙂

We went to Baby Ballet for a bit, on the basis that it was something to keep Madame occupied on a Saturday morning.

It was woeful. All the other kids were called Lily-something.

Isobel (at the age of one) showed her displeasure by rugby tackling one of the other kids in a manner befitting Chabal at his finest; fortunately it was the last session we'd paid for so didn't need to go back...

(with the "i" pronounced as "eye")

Quirky spellings and pronunciations might seem very clever and "unique" and special, but bear in mind that the poor little cow will be spending her entire life alternately correcting people who can't say it properly or spelling it out so that it can be written down correctly.

I'm all for unique or unusual names, but being awkward for the sake of it is almost child abuse.

ObDisclaimer, I am not a parent.

Please use the name Zephyr somewhere in there. My Mother in Law has friends with a grandchild by that name and she can't bring herself to call the girl by her name!

Wish she'd told us the name before our Josephine Tara (Josie) was born! We like the idea of her being street with Josie T or posh with the whole thing or somewhere in the middle!!!!!!!!!
