This does it for me. Still the most exciting intro track to a live rock album, bar none.
U2 - Joshua Tree

Best intro to a whole album for me is the squall of noise at the start of "Seagull" on "Nowhere".That album also has one of the best outros in the cello melody at the end of " Vapour Trail".
Leave Them All Behind from Going Blank Again would be my choice. Nowhere is the better album though.
Cheimcal Brothers: Leave Home as the opening to Exit Planet Dust.
Killer build up...
Not sure about awesome, but a couple that stuck with me:
dEUS - "In a bar, under the sea"
“And the meek shall inherit the earth.”
horses patti smith
Tons to choose from, Biffy are good at intros
(they used the start of this as the intro to gigs for a long time, at the Barras the crowd went so nuts the CD player started skipping 😆 )
Epic in every way.
XTC - White Music opener:
Last oldie:
Oh lawks I forgot this: 'I've Been Waiting For Tomorrow All of My Life' (The The - Soul Mining)
And this! Intros don't come much better than this tbh
Jane's Addiction - Ritual de lo Habitual.....have a listen..
