Afternoon
Just got new car with an aux for plugging your ipod into. Only problem is don't own an ipod only and mp3 player, which happens not to have a separate aux port! Is there a cable that I use which would will get around this, or is it new MP3 player time?

I know my aux port simply takes a feed from the headphones port.

normally you just plug a cable between the aux port in the car and the headphone socket on your mp3 player. You need a double male 3.5mm phono cable.

Something like this:

As above.

Note that the player will not charge so you may also want to get an in-car charger.

Best place for a lead is Tesco...they do a 1 or 2 metre 3.5mm jack lead in their value range for about £4. Much better than a £15 lead that's 5 metres long and you have to coil up in the glovebox!

Best place for any cables is ebay.

You need to check whether your 'aux' is a 3.5mm jack or whether it's some sort of proprietary iPod connector before you spunk any wedge though.
