Autoroute Peage tags?

I've got two Fulli ones. One just for France, one for France, Italy, Spain,and Portugal. The first is 1,70€ per month used, the other is 2,80€ IIRC. They both work perfectly. I think they were free, but a tenner each to post. Very, very handy and I wouldn't be without them now.

Fulli one for me (for France). They've changed over the years. My first one was with Alis but then that got taken over by someone else, then someone else etc and now Fulli. Never been any problems and well worth having.

I asked about this a while back. Isn't there one that's UK based and so avoids credit card currency fees?

Good timing, I was wondering about these myself. I'm doing a solo trip to Morzine and surrounding areas for 2 weeks in July.

I thought I'd experiment with not climbing over the passenger seat to faff around with tickets and coins.

Emovis, based in Harrogate . I've been using one of theirs for years, I wouldn't be without it. Probably doesn't save any time but is great if the queues are big at the toll.

There seem to be a few services offering this – Ulys, Emovis, Bip&Go (which looks like the official one?)

Each one is run by different motorway networks and they're much of a muchness. Emovis seems to have the best set up for UK users.

Used Bip n Go in France last year, delivered to UK within a week, only charge a monthly fee when used, this will increase from €1.70 to €1.90 per month from June 01. There is a good Bip n Go Mobile Ap for tracking charges and monthly spending. It was faultless, although I did find that you (generally) have to approach the T Gate at a slow speed and some of the gates only Bipped and raised when very close. I pay using a Starling account which allows you to have dual GBP and EUR accounts. The charges are automatically deducted from the Euro account. Also allows you to transfer £ into your € account when the exchange rate is good and perfect for using in France, as all Euro transactions are taken from the Euro account, no silly exchange rate charges or fees. Can use their card contactless or use phone to pay. Via Michelin Ap is good for route planning and checking what the Toll charges will be.

They are all "official", run by different motorway companies (some directly, bip&go is a bit less obvious but it's just Sanef) and offer a basically identical service.

Just get the one with the best offer when you buy, or whichever is most convenient.  e.g. Fulli (=APPR) has no application fee at the moment.  Cheapest, assuming there's an "offer" (there usually is) is often ATMB because you can collect it for free at the péage near Annemasse,  but that's no good if you want it for the journey down.

Emovis is expensive - £10 a year "management fee", plus £7/month in use (capped at £14/year).  None of the French ones cost anything near this. And emovis *do* charge currency exchange fees (2%, on a mid market exchange rate) which is worse than lots of cards. I appreciate some people prefer the convenience of a UK supplier, but cost is really not a reason to go with emovis.

I've an Emovis tag and, whilst I don't have anything to compare it to, its been pretty hassle free. They sometimes do deals, but evidently I'm not allowed to say what or how 😉

If you are going eurotunnel (I think they check) and you do want Emovis and littlerob's discount is not even better, you can get a discount. Just google it.

I've been using Emovis tags for years and whilst they're not necessarily the cheapest, their customer service is great, the process is simple and it just works. For me, that makes it value for money.

I use fulli, there's a small fee (€1.70) for each calendar month where it's used, no other fees. Money is DD'ed from a euro balance I hold at Starling bank. Never had any issues with it at all

It's not about which Autopeage tag to use......but how fast you dare approach the barrier for the first time with one of Luc Bessons characters flashing away in a flogged out Parisian plated Peugeot 406 2cm off your rear bumper.

I appreciate some people prefer the convenience of a UK supplier, but cost is really not a reason to go with emovis.

I tried a couple of others but my bank doesn’t support whatever payment method they use to pay in Euros, so I’m stuck with Emovis unless I change my account.

We’ve never bothered with one before but driving solo this year with the dog in the way on the front seat of the van made things so easy 👌🏻

Ulys worked fine for our trip, but while it’s a friendly English site to order one the rest is very much French only. Also while they do card for paying initially they want a SEPA (like a direct debit) setting up. First direct didn’t work, Starling appeared to work but then Ulys didn’t like it a month later. Couldn’t get it resolved, was eventually charged €30 which was refunded when I returned the tag to them.

Interested in the alternative for one or two trips a year, it was great to just roll through the tag lanes rather than queue.

Maybe because I've been using it for a good few years, but I don't pay that. Mine is 8 euros a year and 5 euros a month (active). The exchange rate used for my last bill in April was 1 euro = £0.855.

My Emovis tag came in a metalicised baggie that has Bip and Go branding.

We have been using Emovis for years. Convenient with the camper.

Got an email last month saying charges are going up but still worth it.

Potentially useful update - ordered a Fulli on Thursday afternoon, it just arrived today (Wed lunchtime for future readers). Seems pretty good to me given that it's come from France.

Good question. I've never found a way. Each time we use it for the first time on a trip we make sure we go to one of the lanes where you can take a ticket in case the battery is dead.

Anecdotally they will last 6 or 7 years I believe.

We're 4 years of frequent (most weekends) use in to our current one. I'm starting to get nervous about the barrier not lifting one of these days.

Bump - anyone know how you add your number plate to your Emovis account for the free-flow tolls (A13/A14 only so far, I think)?
