It was excellent over Angus at about 0300, covering half of the sky, great big vertical beams of green, wavy curtains lower down, swathes of purple and red laid across. Not as good as the last one, but still one of the best I've seen.

Magnitude last night of 800-900 twice that of the previous red alert a couple of months back

My brother in Newtown reports a faint glow, with slight banding just discernible to the naked eye. I may get a photo from him to share here tomorrow.

As promised, he took this about midnight last night from a hill a mile or so just north of Newtown (the mid Wales one) and then went to bed, thereby missing the 3am show.

Supposed to be most of UK. Not sure if that includes the very south coast.
