Why were there S#ith Lords in the prequals but not in the original 3? Did the force exterminate them?

alderan

I think you'll find it was Alderaan. And yes, it was Tarkin and Palpatine that gave the instruction.

I thought Alderaan was her home, seeing as she was the Princess (and Senator) of Alderaan?

Just like Star Trek geekness?

I love Star Wars (and hate Star Trek) but it's still geeky "correcting" people about something that's all made up.

T'was indeed Alderaan.

Pretty savage that though eh? I mean an entire planet gone. Just in the blink of an eye. On the whim of someone wielding great power...

Dantooine is indeed the planet named by Leia as the location of the secret Rebel Base.

I'm ashamed and proud at the same time to have known the answer to this.

However I learnt today that money-wringer Lucas is doing 3D versions.{dunno if this is new news?} Nothing like a genius wringing his one inspired idea for everything he can. HE'S GOT MORE MONEY THAN A HORSE COULD SHAT IN A LIFETIME! No neeeeed!

And I had sworn to a pal I'd NEVER go and watch a 3D film ever...might renege on that one...

Emperor Palpatine is a Sith Lord - he's Darth Sidious/Senator Palpatine in the first 3 films. Darth Vader is his apprentice, having been turned as Anakin Skywalker at the conclusion of the 3rd prequel.

I dont think Lucas is money grabbing, i think he's always had to wait for the tech to catch up with his vision. Hence 3ding it now.

I just heard this too ... sounds like Part I is coming out in 2012. Methinks I'll skip the first three.

How come you suddenly felt compelled to open this to the STW masses? Have you experienced some kind of mass compassion this afternoon?

No real loss - those Alderaanians had shocking grammar and could barely string a sentence together without using some sort of slang.

I was just imagining what it might be like, to have the power to make something disappear completely...

...as though it had never existed.

Imagine though, all us lot on here, arguing away, then suddenly Bosh! All gone.

I mean, if some malevolent alien beings had a similar weapon trained on this planet, we could all cease to exist, in a puff of smoke.

Hope they wait until me washing's finished mind. That would be most inconvenient if they used it this very second.

And sadly it seems as though Mankind is intent on developing such power.

What if this thing went wrong all of a sudden, for example?

And what percentage of love or lust would you give them?

Slight thread drift...............

Wouldn't it make more sense to be taken out before doing your washing? I mean, it's not like you'll be going anywhere fancy once you're dead ... unless you're one of those off-worlder types who has a secret bunker on a neighbouring moon (and the means to get the pretty damn fast)?

Yeah, transport for the first one.
TIE - do you think it's an easy one? I would've said that is the hardest, but i'll leave it to go for a bit longer.
And the last, hardly any different from the first - all terrain scout transport - what was another nickname for it?

sadly no guesswork involved - I am a bit of a fan, but I shared a flat at college with a mate who was a bit of an uber-geek for all things science fiction, so my head is full of information that I'm unlikely to ever need, unless someone on a biking forum wants to know what the TIE in TIE fighter stands for ๐Ÿ™„

I shared acommodation with people into Star Trek. I have no interest in the show at all but I know a lot about it! Unfortunate this is, mmm, much like ditch jockey.

Anyway, if you destroyed a planet that interplanetary connections then it would not be as if it had never existed, would it? I mean at least one of its citizens (planetans?) went on to have a key role in the saving of said galaxy did she not?

It is their forum they can do as they wish most of the people who complain and use up the most bandwidth dont appear to subscribe to the mag. So it is odd watching people who get something for free [ [well actually subsidiesd by those of us who buy the mag] complain when it does not meet their expectations. Cant think why STW towers get annoyed with many forumites and go on twitter rants about the place.
I knew TIE as they used to try and shoot the engines out to steal one

OT.... innocent question is the forum funded through mag sales or does advertising cover most/all the costs?

Re the disappeared thread - I didn't post on it last night thinking I'd get back to it today. What was the conclusion? Am I a knob or did I get exonerated?

I all honesty I dont know. I doubt they make enough from banners/adverts to cover the cost of the forum/servers etc. I would be fairly confident that if the mag folds then the forum would go as well.
****ing freeloaders like dole dossers living off thew rest of us why should i work hard pay my subs etc ๐Ÿ˜‰
