Just out walking the pooch and dropped it on some stony ground. The back of it has cracked windscreen style.
Where to repair? DIY? Apple Store? Any suggestions?
buy a cover and forget about it?
back is a removable cover, shouldn't cost much
Also if you bank with lloydsTSB some of their accounts include mobile phone insurance,I was very glad about this a few months ago when I dropped my '4' smashing both the front and back
Less than a fiver on the bay. The only slight complication could be a small pentalobe screw driver

I used LoveFone to repair my screen and they were ace. Stuck in the post on a Tuesday morning, back with me on the Thursday! Happy to recommend.
MrNutt, your suggestion isn't far off but it's cracked quite badly and pieces are falling out. ๐
ebay and a jewellers screwdriver - the backs come off really easily once the two screws are removed.
Check which screws you have in the base. They will either be Philips or pentalobe.
DIY: Just unscrew the screws, slide panel off and replace. 20 second job.

Perhaps now might be a good time for a custom back panel?

Easy to replace the back screen.. You can buy all sorts on Fleabay.. I was able to get a clear glass back panel, and it took less that five minutes to fit.
bet you that guy posing with the ear shaped cover feels like a tit every time he sees that photo online.
and so he should.
Cheers all, back panel + pentacostal screwdriver ordered from de bay. ๐

I can't see what he's got in his other hand, but I'm wondering what you could cover with a large comedy rubber tit. A tunnocks teacake maybe.
Clumsy bint at work managed to throw her iP4 onto a concrete floor and shatter the screen. One of the lads at work replaced it with a replacement she got off the 'Bay. Took him a bit longer than doing the back would.
