This was off a old jacket back in the 70's. Found it today in bunch of badges and pins in the shed.
Unknown Army. Looks German to me ?
Any thoughts.

Google image search is very very clever ๐
Edit: then again!
I literally clicked on your image and asked google to search for similar images
Wow. ... what was your search string ?
Thanks.
Google images to give the same site Bregante found. The badge appeared in a slideshow of images with the word Orobica under it. Search for Orobica and it gives the Wiki page.
Same for me. But had no ideal what to type in initially.
Green badge, army, crown, deer, eagle.
Ahh...

Cool.
You don't need to type anything you can just drag the image in to the Google image search bar (this is a life changing Internet moment for you I feel privileged to be a part of it).

Yes, sorry should have said that. The drag-image-to-google-images thing is very handy ๐
I bought a flying jacket from the States, with a badge sewn on one sleeve, I spent ages trying to find it, eventually saw a coloured version in google images after scrolling through hundreds using a search string something like 'US military unit badges' or similar. Turns out it aligned with the age of the jacket, c1991, the unit had amalgamated with two others in 1993:

It's US Army TEXCOM, Test and Experimental Command, now Test and Evaluation Command.
The previous owner was, presumably, a test pilot or crew member on rotary-wing aircraft.
Nice to find a bit of the jackets history.
Life changing ๐
I learnt something new today...two things actually ๐
Started looking further into Italian Mountain Infantry Units and better use of google image search.
Nice!
Thanks guys.
