After five years of arguing about brexit I am however getting a bit bored now of moron apologists. Rather than tip-toeing round the notion that morons walk amongst us, might our efforts not be better spent acknowledging and and accepting that some people are morons and working out how to get around that?

I have anti vax family - they are well known in the family for just being obtuse to be seen to be edgy...... There's a fair bit of that going around as well .....

I was in the sandwich shop yesterday and the bloke in front of me was waving a £50 note around and mouthing on about how your birth certificate is printed on the same paper as money, so it's a bond, so that means it's worth .1% of GDP. And the guy in front of him was like "wow, every day's a school day."
But if you're sceptical about something then you should look into it, ask questions. Then you do one of three things depending on how much of a light breeze is blowing between your ears:
1) You come to understand how vaccination works.
2) You accept that you'll never understand how vaccination works and put your trust in people who do.
3) You hit the Internet screaming about "natural", "chemicals", mercury, 5G, Big Pharma, dead babies and Bill Gates, with a side order of testing and long-term effects.
We know how vaccines work. Jenner came up with it in the 1700s. This is not new. We've eradicated or near-eradicated multiple really nasty diseases over the years. The CV2 vaccine was brought to market quickly because, y'know, global pandemic and all that, by dint of a LOT of people working on it in parallel utilising technology we've had for decades. It was tested on tens of thousands of actual human volunteers before it was approved for public use.

And we're still doing it. I just did it back there. If we want to win over the morons, we have to do what Aaron Banks did masterfully which is learn how to speak Moron. "Well, I was hesitant, until granny caught it and died" is likely to win over more morons than acting like Mr Logic in Viz. But whilst I've moved in many diverse circles over the years, Moron isn't one of them so I'm not well versed in doing it.

You’re talking about convincing someone that there perception of the world is wrong. That’s a hard ask in person for someone that’s trained their entire life to do so.
With Anti-Vaxxers It’s closer to de-radicalisation than it is having a healthy discussion where provision of a few facts can change someone’s mind.
sadly it only takes a single doubt to be sewn, and it lingers for ever. doesn't matter if it's a genuine doubt or one made up and seeded by a moron.
even now, that one doubt about MMR a quarter of a century ago persists. and it will persist for eternity.

They don't ask enough searching questions of those providing them with "views" and "opinions". They jump onboard bandwagons led by grifters and manipulators, while, without a trace of irony, labelling those unwilling to do so as "sheeple". 🤷🏻

I don't think it's the case that they are devoid of empathy, rather their anger over-rides the empathy. This come down to differences of opinions. For example just look at the way I've been spoken to, for expressing a different view to the narrative. The more anger is involved the less empathy anyone has for another person especially if they are being personally targeted for their opinions. Nobody deserves hate, regardless of what they believe. So maybe the answer lies with having empathy for other people opinions? In turn that would solve the anger and abuse issue.

An anti-vaxxer lied to the research team on Jeremy Vine's radio show today to get onto the show.
He then started going on about BBC lying to the public & being puppets of the New World Cartel or something equally ridiculous.
He was quoting 1500 deaths in England caused by the vaccine that the BBC isn't reporting, which apparently is related to some yellow card reporting system & not really any proof of deaths from the virus.
I was a bit disappointed that Jeremy Vine didn't ask any questions, such as 'what is the point of this supposed death vaccine? etc. They talked to him for a bit & then switched caller.

There was a guy on the radio earlier who had lost his Mum, Dad & Brother (or maybe best mate, I can't remember) to Covid. They had all refused the vaccine because of scare mongering articles they had read on social media. The parents were both in ill-health already & basically contracting Covid was their death sentence.
FWIW, I've got a mate who somewhat hilariously used to pump his body full of the recreational drugs of choice all weekend, every weekend in his younger years. There weren't many weekends he wasn't off his tits at a rave somewhere.
But, now he is a very vocal anti-vaxxer on Facebook pasting links to the latest hog-wash nonsense about global conspiracies, poison, anti-establishment, sheeple etc.
But he had no issue buying a completely unknown substance from a shady bloke in the corner of a nightclub or field week after week after week and snorting it up his nose or swallowing it.

You'll see from my tweets that I'm not aggressive with my language. Frankly, anyone who goes out of their way to pick an argument with me as a result of me tweeting about the death from covid of my mother an uncle can expect to be told to f off both online and IRL.

Those who choose to disbelieve the science are increasing the risks for the rest of the population. This upsets those who have lost friends and family as well as those with vulnerable people close to them understandably. In addition the impact on the non vaccinated of the virus is pulling on the health resources which impacts those with the rest of the problems that hospitals exist to help with.
I am not sure why you believe it's not for you, but I'd urge you to join the collective effort and get vaccinated.

I absolutely don't, have to do anything. Why are you under the assumption that I need to explain anything? I never once spoke about facts. I spoke of my opinion , I have no desire to change how other people live their life or to change their opinions to mine. Adults shouldn't act this way. It's only upto an individual to 'prove' something if they intend to change someone's opinion.

No, I'd never do that. I was explaining that I feel anger is the reason why opposing views can't hold much empathy for one another. You just made a good example of why I hold that view. If everybody held empathy for each other's right of opinion then there would be no anger. This obviously comes down to selfishness.. everyone feels their opinions are right and get angry at opposition, it's only human to want everyone to hold their opinions but life doesn't work that way.
Empathy is all we can hope for.

Please explain as from what I have read from the above posts, quite a few people have posted some links to evidence or actual evidence that science is good, whereas you have just said you don't believe it (but not why).
For what it's worth I am happy to follow the science. I get vaccinated when there is a disease that I would like protection against, I don't eat McDonalds because there isn't anything healthy in it. The same goes for KFC. Never taken drugs bought from a bloke on the street. I have a mobile phone despite some fears of brain frying, and I do know (not through experience) that if you put your fingers in a 240V socket it will hurt (a lot).

Thank you, finally a direct question.. so yeah I believe in a few things and they will sound bizarre to the average citizen but as you asked kindly I will explain.
Firstly it starts with the over population problem we have on the planet, it's been known for hundreds of years that we are over populated and it just can not continue this way.
I believe there are attempts to depopulate the planet and one of the biggest ways is with the vaccine, first I believe they created a little problem I.E covid. It comes down to the problem, reaction, solution theory. This is the only way you can get citizens to willingly do something in their favor.
Ok so they created covid so society would panic, and ultimately get the vaccine that would eventually depopulate.
I believe the vaccines have been created to do a verity of different things. One being to alter people's DNA , to cause immune system disorders, to cause fertility issues in women (no more birth rates) mental illness, heart problems and ultimately a shut down of bodily organs. Yes it's a serious opinion I hold, to cause mass death to control population issues.
I also believe cancer is man made due to the very same reason, we can look back at history and find many situations of failed attempts at population control, I.E black death, fire of London, WW1 , WW2 etc etc.
So you or someone else will ask why they would want to depopulate the earth? It's simple. For control.. it's easier to control fewer people without resistance. A teacher would find it easier to control a class of 5 pupils than a class of 25, the same theory applies here.
I believe a new world order is happening and has been planned for years. They want a cashless society, microchipped humans and a worldwide one world government. This will be the mark of the beast and the start of the end of civilization.

This is the kind of thing that's dangerous. You have no proof or evidence that the vaccine is dangerous or life threatening, but are telling people that it is. Most people will just ignore you, but some people might hear your opinion - not fact, but opinion, and be swayed by it. If they hear it from enough sources, it might sow a seed of doubt that means they won't get the vaccine 'just in case that bliss bloke knew what he was on about'. Then they might contract Covid & die. Because of someone's opinion, which has no validity whatsoever, as you have no proof or evidence that it is '.....very dangerous & life threatening by design'.

Evolution? Modern physics? Biology? Chemistry?
Presumably you believe in the internet, so you believe in all of the technology behind that & the science required to make it work? Electricity? Semi-conductors? Optical fibres? Satellites?
Do you drive? Or use a train? Or an aircraft? How about all the science in modern transport systems? Flight theory? The science of propulsion systems? Radar? Material science? High temperature alloys, rubbber, fuels?
You drink water? Do you understand the complete cycle of water purification from reservoir to tap, or do you only get your water from a natural source & filter it yourself through a muslin cloth, before boiling it?
Central heating? Does your home have it? Do you understand how your boiler works & how the gas comes out of the ground & ends up in the pipe that fires your boiler. The same question stands for gas & electricity.
