Yes. Not deep and crisp and even, more powdery over older drifts, but nice and crisp and pretty to look at. Have a look in the 'Whinlatter today' thread - pictures of borrowdale bash

Helvellyn from Thirlmere side yesterday-full on winter day. Ice axe and crampons were deployed. Very cold wind and intermittent great views. Definitely worth a visit.

Weatherline (with snow conditions report from Helvellyn summit) will give you a good indication. Actually, it doesn't look like they've started the snow observation reports yet, it is only autumn afterall.
