Have a MacBook Pro and a desktop setup with additional display. Have a few pennies to spend courtesy of a John Lewis voucher so wondering whether the Magic Mouse is worth the £60 cost. Bearing in mind I don't do high tech graphics or gaming, just normal work and home based use.

Cheers

Great for browsing - but I find them awful for working with, but I like to rest two fingers on a mouse, and it confuses the gestures

I much prefer the magic trackpad for my macbook + monitor set up, a mouse just feels clumsy in the hand.

I have one you can have for, say, £20 plus postage?

I prefer trackpads these days.

i love mine, it makes browsing the web more intuitive. Most of the features don't work for Office programs though.

Hmm might be a visit to my local Apple Store for a test run then?!

I really like mine, I think I am right in saying I've had it since I got my Mini in 2009. Have not tried a trackpad, haven't felt the need.

Mine has pretty much stayed in my laptop bag since I bought it. The built in pad is far easier and quicker to use.

The Apple Trackpad, when used with a Mac, and when you're used to iOS on you iPhone/iPad is a wonderful thing. Pinch to zoom, swipe between screens, swipe back/forward a page on the 'net, up and down to scroll or zoom in on, say, a map.... All sorts of ace functions. Took me a couple of days to get used to the basics and a bit of effort to learn the odd stuff but I wouldn't change back to a mouse ever again. I find all mice horribly basic and clumpy now.

I can't stand mine, it's so unergonomic - bordering painful to use.
Gestures are brilliant, they make so much sense when you convert to a mac system but i just can't get over how bad it is to use as a mouse.

Magic Mouse is ok for short bursts but not for prolonged working. I have a Mighty Mouse on the right and a trackpad on the left so that it spreads the actions out between both hands and means that I've not had any rsi issues since adopting this setup. Left hand for zooming/scrolling/gestures right hand for clicking, works for me.

No, but the trackpad is.

I have both and never use the magic mouse now.

If anyone else decides they would like to sell their magic mouse I'd gladly buy it (at the right price that is). Mail in profile.

Assuming that the previous Apple mouse, Mighty Mouse, is just a fairly bog-standard point and click option?

Cheers

Download Magic Prefs to add more gestures, like turning the apple logo into a third button.
Also adds gestures for trackpads.

I haven't seen your email yet codybrennan. I've been having email troubles so maybe it disappeared into cyberspace.
