Believe this is the new version of the Nikon D300
The D300 scored high in reviews, so the D3100
should be a little better in functions and maybe
menu tweaks.
Best go and try

D3100 is an entry level consumer camera. D300 is a semi pro... D3100 preceded by the D3000.
