I was going to say Yellowcard, but you're clearly ahead of me.

3 doors down, 3 days grace, breaking benjamin, the killers, goo goo dolls, brand new. Just a few that come to mind, they're not all pop punk, but close.

There's pop and there's punk. Never the twain & all that 😉

But you could try The Undertones or The Buzzcocks 🙂

You obviously forgot Green Day there John 🙂

Rival Schools used to be good at that sort of thing. Dunno if they still are.

The Godfathers for old stuff.

The Starting Line
Homegrown
Blink182
Boxcar Racer
New Found Glory

Gratitude

For some interesting covers try "Punk Goes Pop" series and "Punk Goes Crunk". Not all done by Pop-punk bands but there are a couple on there.

In a slightly different vein...

....not pop but folk punk-check the Bad Shepherds (Ade Edmondson)
Great live-saw them a couple of weeks back and touring for most of the year.Back here (Swansea) in October

Try something with umpf

Slayer
Rammstein
Iron Maiden
Jimi Hendrix

Pop and punk should not be together in the the same sentence.

Pop and punk should not be together in the the same sentence.

In your opinion, other opinions are available. Labelling music is a slippery slope anyway.

The definition of 'pop punk' is slightly wide at times. To me current pop punk bands are like the following.

USA
Dear Landlord
New Bruises
Off With Their Heads
Iron Chic

UK
The Dauntless Elite
The Amistad
Pudge
This, stream of a 4 way split

...although from what you've put in the OP I guess you may be looking for something a little more 'melodic'/pop at times. 😉

ctznsmith has very similar ideas to me. Off With Their Heads are one of my favourite live bands. Although the new LP's a bit ropey. I'd add (not all new, and some are more pop than punk / vice versa)

Broadway Calls
(some) Alkaline Trio
Latterman (especially if you like Iron Chic ;))
The Riot Before
Nothington
Joe 90
Vanilla Pod (but DON'T go see them live!)
The Copyrights
Weezer
Hot Water Music
The Weakerthans
Bangers
Beezewax
The Ataris
Gunmoll
Jawbreaker
(early) Rise Against
This is my Fist
The Lawrence Arms
New End Original (or indeed anything to do with Jonah Matranga)
The Get Up Kids
Ted Leo and the Pharmacists

And I'll reiterate NOFX. Has anyone mentioned Green Day before they turned atrocious? I could go on for hours...

Green Day are ok but I've never bought any of their stuff. Nor downloaded for free either

I'm a bit old school when it comes to punk I'm afraid.

UK:
The Damned
Sex Pistols
The Clash
etc

USA:
Dead Kennedys
Black Flag
etc

Anything commercially viable since about 1982 isn't punk in any way shape or form.
It's all just rock music
IMHO of course 😉

Saw 2 punk bands in the old style last night; not impressed, The Clash did it better

Descendants
Samiam
Chamberlain
CIV
Gorilla Biscuits
Quicksand
Dag Nasty
Bad Religion
411
Subsociety
Operation Ivy

perhaps more on the punk or HC side of the coin than the pop

Actually I can almost narrow it down to 4 record labels:
Relevation Records
SST
Epitaph
Dischord

ok, i can't resist! some of rev's releases, perhaps (farside, sensefield, perhaps civ) but other than dag nasty i wouldn't have said that anything at all on dischord could be considered 'pop punk'.

Symposium
Midget
A
Therapy?
Joyrider
Kerbdog
Honeycrack
3 Colours Red
I suspect that list ages me more exactly than carbon dating.

Bad Religion might well be the best band in the world evars but are they pop-punk? Punk rock surely?
