My other half is big into it ever since we we went to Nashville couple years back. Randomly she also started watching Nashville only to find one of her old school friends is one of the lead actresses.
I’ve been dragged to c2c twice and various other gigs. As a metal fan I’d prob never admit it but a couple shows were good. Zak brown band and brothers osbourne spring to mind

I like a lot of the highwaymen stuff, I liked a lot of Neil young acoustic stuff which introduced me to a bit of willie nelson, and from there, Johnny cash, etc. Then merle haggard and George Jones
I really love willie nelson and emmy lou Harris in this, not really county I suppose, there is a definite Spanish /Mexican vibe to it but a great song..

I've been to Opryland in Nashville! (now closed). My friend from South Dakota had to explain who everyone was but it was fun. Have also seen the Oakridge Boys live at the Wayne County Fair, just before the tractor pull started.

When I met my wife her mum was a country music DJ and often traveled to the states to interview C&W music artists.There are still a few pictures of her interviewing Johnny Cash and Chris Kristofferson in the hall. We found an old recording of interviewing Johnny Cash and June Carter, really interesting to hear.
I dont think I really appreciated a lot of the music at the time, as it seemed too old to a younger me, although Johnny often gets played these days.
Recently heard this guy on Bob harries` TV show and really enjoyed the performance and song UK country perhaps....
