Must be hard for folk living in constituencies with massive majorities. I used to live in Brackley who's MP is Angela [s]Lansbury[/s] Leadsom.

It was pretty depressing standing in the booth, let me tell you.

Sounds like you're one of those folks that will actually be ticking the Tory box but doesn't want to admit it - you know, the ones that through the polling off.

Meh, a vote for them is a vote to tell them its OK not to have any costings in their manifesto, and that's definitely not OK with me - may as well be signing a blank sheet of paper on blind faith.

I'm probably going to either vote for the independent or spoil my ballot paper but I will go to the polling station as it's a privilege to be able to vote. But the mainstream parties are a shambles.

I live in a very safe Conservative seat but I'll never vote Conservative especially as they are now enacting UKIP's will, but also my MP's voting record driven by him being a Mormon makes Hilter look a bit liberal, so even if I was a Tory I'd have trouble supporting him.

I would normally vote Labour but I can't support Corbyn and i'm not going to support the Liberals especially as their leader is a bit confused about what it means to be liberal.

What I really want is a credible centre-left party but that doesn't exist at the moment.

What's the current best method for spoiling your ballot paper

[quote=ourmaninthenorth ]This election is very simple:
Want more Tory, vote Tory. Want less Tory, vote Labour (however much you dislike Jeremy Corbyn's sixth form-ism).
Any other party is a waste

Except it isn't quite that simple. My constituency may be a bad example as Labour were 3rd behind UKIP last election, but then I don't think Labour are ever likely to get in here so it will always be a wasted vote. But go back to 2005 when we had a popular local councillor standing, the Lib Dems got within 2000 votes of taking the seat (apart from the other changes in party support, the Lib Dems put up a couple of rubbish candidates since then - though the vote really collapsed last election). I'll be interested to see the vote share, but IMHO voting Lib Dem here is a slightly better choice if you want less Tory.

Not me. Just encourages them. The desire to be a politician should automatically exclude a person from ever becoming one. Especially Conservatives.

Someone knows how to quote Billy Connolly.

I'm afraid Arthur C Clarke beat Billy to that one...

@stainypants, I voted green last election when faced with a very safe Tory seat and a dislike for the other candidates, don't know if that's an option for you. I certainly don't want a green government, but I would like to see more input of their policies into the mainstream. I guess otherwise an independent if it's somebody you know and agree with - if I lived in the next door constituency I'd be doing that as I know his election agent!

I was so tempted not to as I really do belive that our system is so wrong. Every potential MP promises the world then ignores what the local voters want if successful and follows the party line. None of them can make promises that they can keep as there is just not enough in the way of money to do everything. As our contry is relatively evenly balenced we are stuck with nasty babyish bickering when sore losers don't get what they want. We need, for better or worse and whoppng majority. 600+ votes for one party. Leave them there for 20 years. I actually belive that this election is wrong. Its too soon and all we have is disruption.
I expect my MP to do as his voters want irrelevant of his parties views. it would be so nice if we had no parties and all were independents. I also feel that the priviledge of voting is so under valued and yet so excessivley given that its no longer special to many.
Having said all that I voted for the person who I felt would do the least damage.

who needs policies?

the Torys have invested in minibusses with free tea and biscuits and are offering a shuttle service for OAPs to the polling station.

win!

And he was beaten, by quite some margin, by Plato.

My seat is between a vile SNP incumbent and a labour councillor complacent about the cover up of the stat notices which occured while he was a councillor. I quizzed him on this and got the party line which is utter nonsense spouted at me. My other possible candidates are lib dems and tories. Can't vote for them. I can't vote for any of them and anyway it will be an anti tory seat no matter what

I'm going with Emmerdale, even though Eastenders or Corrie will probably win

Not voting today, went offshore for a 3 day trip last Friday and i'm still here.

So far this trip has caused me to miss my better half's birthday (i suspect that may turn out to be expensive).
An afternoon out with work, my opportunity to vote and a dentist appointment with my daughter.

I went and spoiled my ballot paper, writing "None of the above" and "vote Ariana Grande".
