I can only find galvinized of bnp ones.

Heat them up on a gas ring or cooker hob, and drop them in a bucket of oil.
Best to have the oil outside in case of flare up of the oil.

Bzp,as thegalvanised have a coating already, dont lower the bolts into the oil slowly or it will catch fire , use some pliers or tongs and drop them in.

ok, cheers - i'll try a dummy run tomorrow - unless anyone can name a source for black, i thought they'd be a standard colour

Loads of sellers on ebay, shirley some will have black.

Nope - not that I can find. Black oxide from USA or oriental in bulk.
