Afternoon, have introduced my Dad and future Father-in-Law to the wonders of mountain biking over the weekend with routes round Pen-y-Ghent and the general moors and hills round Marsden way.

We're hitting the trails again this Sunday, but this time setting out by car from my Dad's place in Oxford to the Cotswolds. Anyone got any decent routes round there of 20 milesish with nice climbs and descents ideally?

I've looked at the options on the STW trail guide and they look possible, though may be a little far to drive to in the first place. Anything in the Cotswolds a little closer and more North West of Oxford, an hour's drive or so, would be perfect - the techier the better, as always!

Cheers!

'Techier the better' rules out most of the Cotswolds close to Oxford.
You'd probably be better off heading to the Chilterns, only 40 mins from Oxford and some really good trails.
I live in Witney and there's nothing techy within 20 miles of me.
I've got some Cotswold routes I can send you, but they're mainly bridleways across fields and roads through small villages.

Unless you go a bit further than you want you will be disappointed. Id suggest the Chilterns, or go a bit further.

ok fair play! i don't think we can go any further afield and we're meeting others for lunch so sounds like it's going to be bridleways!

cheers.
