Erm, so let me get this straight.....your mate, who has a "girlfriend", has dropped out of going speed dating and his girlfriend wants to know if you want to go?
What's the real story?! Is this a "girlfriend" or a "girl friend"?
Once, 15 odd years ago.
Left early for the pub, in company.
Brilliant evening from that point on.........
Went once and enjoyed it. Lots of conversations with mostly interesting people with the added bonus that you might come out of it with a girlfriend, what have you got to lose.
P.S. You have to explain the girlfirend, mate and speed dating situation.
I met my (now) wife speed dating..... Observations are:
The women were normal, the men were all weirdos (hello!).
The women were all there with a mate, the blokes were all there by themselves. So make sure you go with somebody: in the bar afterwards the women were all chatting to their mate, therefore instant advantage if there are also two of you. Being there with a woman might not be that helpful in this scenario.
Have a couple of questions ready to go in case the person opposite you is as dull as dishwater - 3 minutes is a long time with some people.
Oh, and get a couple of drinks down you beforehand.

Yup I agree.. all very odd but hey, it's their life n all. However I did know a girl at Uni who "entertained" a number of my mates on more than one occasion.. Nice Girl, came from Ambleside, long dark hair, sexy little thing in all honesty..

Sounds like someone likes to have cake and eat it and keep some spare. How many of us would be happy with a situation like this, I know I wouldn't be.
