We are looking to rent a house in Scotland for me and three other colleagues. I've heard that there is Scottish specific laws about multiple occupancy for more then two people who are not related sharing a house, does anybody know if this is enforced and do landlords take any notice of it?

I don't know if it is scottish specific but for a "house in multiple occcupation" all sorts of things such as a licence from the council are needed.

Landlords do take notice of it as it is an offence to let without the HMO licence, However there are plenty of HMOs about.
