[Closed] anybody do any Metal Detecting

I once bought a metal detector (some cheap thing from Maplins iirc) with the intention of become rich beyond my wildest dreams. Sadly I never found a haul of roman gold coins, and after spending the day digging up my sister's garden, which I had decided would be a dead cert in providing me with a treasure trove/haul on account that she lives in a 15th century cottage with a two and half acre garden slap bang in the middle of the Pilgrim's Way, I emerged with nothing more than a varied assortment of silver milk bottle tops, leaving behind a multitude of small holes in her lawn. The metal detector is still somewhere in the depths of her ridiculously large garage I believe. I never bothered again.

Yep, done a bit of metal detecting. Although it was more a case of moving AWAY from anything picked up on the metal detector 😐

I imagine it could be interesting in differing circumstances.
