How hard to weld box section aluminium together, nothing pretty just functional. where would I start looking for someone to do it for me.

depends, it's not easy to do (unless you have the correct tools/skills)
i know a good fella in bridgnorth shropshire.
normally word of mouth / google / yellow pages "aluminium welder"
