we did a lap of Portland (followed cough paths round upper edges) - was brilliant (*codger perspective, enjoying architecture, views, lighthouses, sun, clear water, Portand Rip, and fab views - it's not a techy etc/singletrack) - from the harbour, proper cycle track, track along spit, up an annapurna of a stone tramway on E side of Portland round to prison, follow top cough path - we didn't do the lower ones on the E side)bit of road and edge and from 3 lighthouses at end along W edge down, stop and have a look at sculpture park on W edge and down to weird shaped cafe on W beach level

Yep, I know the Portland stuff very well from flying model planes off the cliffs. Fascinating place and Ive been going there for years looking for all the secret features like the old windmills. Some nice quarries to check out.
What I'm really looking for stuff I can do on the ridge on the way to Dorchester. I suppose Strava is a good place to look.

@ iain1775 Sadly Im coming by train so no car. Where is Charlie (Bikemonger?) based? Probably a station somewhere near.

Editi: Found Charlie.
