6 months after tearing the cartilage in my left knee, rupturing the PCL ligament and over stretching the ACL ligament my muscles are wasting away and the pending operations still seem a long way off. I was just wodering if anyone can recommend any exercises that will help keep strength in my quads but not really use my knee?

Why not just keep using it normally? Failing that a EMS machine would work.
Exercise could include sit to stand from a relatively high chair or sliding your back down a wall, but only go down around 6".
Or just tense your quads with your feet on the floor.
Or short goes on the turbo etc.
Anything where you get support from something like the floor or a pedal etc.
