Just a quick question about those Medic alert bracelets/chains, U tag thingies.
Does anyone use them? as in check the info printed on it or ring the number if you come across an unconcious patient?
I'm trying to decide if an alert id with minimum information is good enough or to subscribe and have more info available if you ring the number? so would A&E staff or a Paramedic actually ring a number or just use the info printed on the bracelet?
Anyone??
We tend not to but do look to see what's printed on it, if the conditions on it makes a lot easier. We tend not to mess about ringing phone numbers just pick up and treat as we find on the move.
A+E certainly will they have more staff so make it a little easier.
I've got a medic alert chain thin...never had to use it but it does mention my medical 'issues'...
Great thanks for that, it's for my daughter who takes warferin for a prosthetic heart valve and is allergic to amoxocillin
those two facts can be printed on it and will be very useful.
