I would have thought that gears would be Getriebe or Gang
Grosse hunde landen auf meinem gesicht?
When using the perhaps poor Google translator
The individual word gear / gears comes up as Getriebe or Gang
But when I put the sentence in I get Blut-Schweiß Räder

Planetary gears Stufenräder
Car gears Gänge

Ok, shredder. Why ask for translation advice if you've done it yourself...?
Gang is gear, as in fünf Gang - 5 gear etc.
I think Getriebe is used more for gearbox - could be wrong though.
Rad is wheel, so I am pretty sure that Räder from your translation is the plural of wheels, not gears....
It sound like you are after Die Schaltung, look that up and see if it fits.
Not a translation, but puts me in mind of my dad's story of when he was taken prisoner in Greece in WWII.
The German officer stood before them and said "Is there anyone here from Putney? I was educated in Putney". Followed by "Gentlemen, for you the war is over" (he really did) and "You have a long walk but may leave your coats, the sun always shines in Germany".
"Blood sweat and gears" means something special because gears replaces the similar sounding word tears in the original common phrase. So yes you can translate it word for word but that won't really give the same meaning.
💡 My English really is getting rusty. 🙁
