Need some peaty Christmas cheer any decent offers about?
Laphroaig Select is £25 at Tesco. Not sure what "Select" means exactly, but maybe worth a punt?
Yeah seen that not mad keen on the 10year Laphroaig usually but as you say may be worth a go.
it's the whisky equivalent of selling the dregs from the drip tray.
£42 for the 10 year ardbeg, not the best Christmas deal
There's not much on offer just now as far as I can see. The best offers I can find for single malt (though neither are Islay) are Glenlivet for £20 at Tesco or Old Pulteney for £22 at booths.
Think I have seen Ardbeg at £35 will try and find the link again
I have been having a look recently and Tesco has a deal on Talisker (not Islay I know, but there are similarities and it is a nice whisky). Aside from that Asda's own brand Islay seems to get a decent write up here.
Bout a bottle of Aldi's own Islay for £20 - not good - infact reminded me of Laphroaig
This is of very little help to you, but I just bought a bottle of Bowmore Legend for €17 in my local supermarket (in France).
Ardbeg at £25 in Tesco a couple of weeks ago.
Asda usually a good shout on the bargain front

I thought it was worth £20, but you shouldn't expect it to be as good as a whisky costing much more.
I thought it was oddly balanced - very heavily peated but quite sweet at the same time, almost like mixing a Laphroaig with a Speyside malt.
Not Islay but if you are after something a bit distinctive I got a bottle of Old Pulteney from Morrison for £24
Love the Pulteney
I've had the asda before, I quite liked it, it did have a slightly odd note but for £20 its still well worth it.
10 year talisker is a bit rough.
Never tried Pulteney may give it a go, what's the cat urine smell about?
I tend to only drink peaty, rich and or sherry infused stuff though

Struggling to see how that's a bad thing for an Islay single malt, as Laphroaig is pretty much the definitive Island malt.
Works for me, at any rate.

Not peaty, but rich and sherry - the colour says it all

It's a belter of a Whiskey, being just over £50 it's not cheap, but for a special occasion it's worth an investment.
Mine will not last till the new year, that's for sure 😉
I might just need to stock up on another 😉
I have also enjoyed the Tesco's 10yo Islay single malt for £21 a bottle, if you are looking for something cheaper.

Tried that once & it was canny, haven't seen it since though?
Morrisons have Old Pulty for £28 ATM but it's not peaty, more like Dalwhinnie IMO. Talisker's on offer at Morrisons as well, can't remember how much exactly.
I'm not in the market for any as I'll hopefully get some at Crimbo. 😮
Noticed recently Amazon are competive with whiskey prices at the moment, worth checking with them before buying elsewhere online
The Lagavulin 16 yo is under £50 notes!
Ocado seem to have a good range at reasonable prices.
Lophraig (sp?) is £28 for a 70cl in Sainsburys at the moment.
