I can't stand any remotely perfumy smells, so have always used unperfumed deodorant... then I took a punt on one of those crystal type ones. No smell, no residue, don't stop the sweat quite as much as a roll-on... but the stick thing lasts FOREVER! Can't recommend enough. Unless you're very sweaty and B.O.-y, then you'll need something stronger (Mitchum roll on is good, though why only the LADIES version is unperfumed is beyond me. Well, it says "LADY" on the label, otherwise it's the same stuff I'd bet).

What non-spray anti-perspirant/ deodorants are there that eschew plastic packaging in favour of aluminium or paper?

This. Packaged in glass pot with metal lid. Works, smells ok but not too strongly, doesn't mark my clothes. Looks pricey but a 100ml pot lasts more than 3 months for me. And it's all artisan, perfect STW product.

So irked with the Vinny Jones Brut campaign! I actually do just like the smell, so the brut-brute faux "anti-brand" stance is a right turn-off.

Mitchum roll on in whatever flavour is on offer. Interested in the more eco freindly options out there. There’s a lot of plastic and presumably some fairly nasty chemicals in my current choice.

Former Mitcham user here, no complaints but concerned with plastic. Now make my own, it's dead easy to do and my (reusable) glass jar lasts for around 5 months. Recipe here, small quantities of ingredients available from Ebay and you can just leave out essential oil(s).
