Ahh. how do you empty the cages though? I know firewood sellers like ibc's, but for guy at home they must be awkward, no?

personally I've an on 8'6"x6'6" shed full....then another ~18 cube just stacked 4' high and wide on pallets and tarped over.

Just lean in and grab them or pull them out through the gaps - not too bad. It makes moving a winter's worth of logs (about 6m3) inside from where they've been drying over the summer a pretty simple task compared to not using the cages.

Sounds like it works well, so you stack a fair distance from the house? If so then moving an ibc tote at a time must help!

I do as suggested by. Errr. Stoner iirc, and fill IKEA tote bags at the stack and carry those in. If filled with hard wood they are heavy but manageable, just! I use an old pram to bring 4 of these up to the conservatory at a time.

@sharkbait - how big is your garden ?!?!?!

Crikey, we've got a smallish garden back garden. Those cages are good idea and I reckon I might be able to get one of the cages in a corner behind the garage but my much-better-half wants something less industrial looking.
