[#8376607]

Just binned off Netflix as got bored of it, and taken a year or Amazon prime for free deliveries and the tv. I'll be watching Grand Tour although I dislike jemery Clarkson, beside that what other things are worth hunting out? A quick look yesterday left me disappointed.

Black sails is great. Goliath is worth a watch. What kind of stuff do you like?

Vikings, Black Sails and Fortitude too, if it's on there.

I watched the Louis Theroux Scientology film last night. It was a good (if not particularly probing) insight into a totally bonkers cult.

Stop filming. No, you stop. No, you stop..... ๐Ÿ˜€

I'm halfway through Preacher at the moment but I'm not really sure what to make of it still!

Man in the high castle. Season 2 the best thing I have ever seen on telly by miles and miles

That's quite a claim, still to get onto after season 2 as season 1 didn't leave me begging for more.

OTOH....Vikings (can't believe it hasn't been mentioned yet!), also enjoying Braindead as some light relief, Preacher was mad, Mr Robot was brilliantly mental, Black Sails is good (if a bit talky), Ray Donavan is good, and obvs there's The Grand Tour ๐Ÿ™„

tbh, there isn't a huge amount to find

Some of the above, and "Halt and Catch Fire" is very nicely made, I'm starting to struggle a bit with Season 3 though.

Man in the high castle. Season 2 the best thing I have ever seen on telly by miles and miles.

That's quite a recommendation. Is it vastly better than Season 1?

stuff we like? OH and I really enjoyed breaking bad and better call saul, also the get down and I'd been through 5 or so seasons of the good wife. Used netflix to catch up on seasons 1 to 4 of call the midwife which we were late comers too, so a mix of stuff, just after a few ideas to try out. Films but mainly box sets that OH and I can work through as we collapse on the sofa once the little girl is asleep.
was hoping to get game of thrones and was disappointed to see that isn't included for free. oh well, something for the future i guess.

The apartment stuff is still gold, but I'm finding the standup bits haven't dated at all well.

Some that haven't been mentioned yet

The Bureau - French (with subtitles) spy thriller.
Prisoners of War - Israeli (subtitled) series that Homeland was based on - vastly better than that (and I enjoyed both)
Bosch - american cop series, but better than most

My wife signed my Amazon account up for a free month of prime.

Is there any way of casting it to my telly from mobile or tablet using a Chromecast?

I tried it a couple of years ago and it was so awkward and crap I cancelled it.

Another one for Goliath - BBT is brilliant in it.

As others have said Sneky Pete is very good too.

I enjoyed Bosch too - nothing taxing in it ๐Ÿ™‚

Mr Robot again is very good.

Next on the agenda is Start Up.

They want you to buy into the Amazon ecosystem, so the only way of casting to a Chromecast is from a PC browser tab ๐Ÿ™

Man in the high castle

I found the first series pretty heavy going.

Last winter I was working my way through the xfiles and the walking dead.

Mostly I watch the free movies when turboing. Real mixture.

Watched a bit of Black Sails, again found it a little meh, and the theme music comes on very loud if you have the volume turned up enough to hear the dialogue over the turbo!!

There was another series I really liked - Badlands I think it was called. Must see if series 2 is out.

Fire TV sticks hardly cost a fortune though!

And if you have a Smart TV or games console there's probably an Amazon app available.

Goliath,
Vikings
Black sails and
Bosch all coming up lots, will try those out first.

what about kids stuff? got a 17 month old who, although only gets about 45 minutes of tv a day, adores Furchester hotel (by sesame street) and Bing. Is there anything she might love on amazon?

Goliath is good...

..however that man in high castle thing i canno get around my head.. too many holes in the story to conceived as a possibility, its easier to see a death star as possibility ..i can put it this way
