Missed the chance to ride this weekend (exam revision supervision duties etc) but managed to sneak out for a cheeky 4.5 hours this morning. Pretty much everything happened/experienced etc in one ride:
Rode: mainly XC, some singletrack, some steeper DH (??imo!!) stuff, stony climbs, muddy climbs
Weather: Sunshine, overcast, torrential rain
Conditions: Deep dry sand, great stuff, deep mud, complete bogs (avoid bottom of Gibbet Hill!)
Live MOD exercise: Nice friendly greetings on both sides, minor detour required
Dogs: well behaved, indifferent, mildly aggressive
Walkers: as above ๐
Injuries: one crash (over the handlebars but nice soft, wet landing), lots of cuts/grazes (rocks and thorns)
Mechanics: punctures x2 ๐ , seat post slipping
Bonk: one major. No breakkie and only water and small Kendal Mint Cake not enough for that length!!!
Getting lost: 2x ( note to self, always a good idea to have a map!)
Bike: one, old very dirty basic HT. Have they lifted the hosepipe ban?
Not bad for one ride!!
