[Closed] Am I missing a seal from the top cap of my Hope headset?

I have a Hope tapered headset on my bike. I stripped it down at the weekend to clean and noticed that the top cap has an inset section that looks like it would normally house a rubber O ring/seal next to the steerer of the forks. Should there be a seal here?

I have swapped forks in this bike so I suppose it is possible it dropped out then.

Which Hope Headset do you have exactly?

Integrated?

Standard?

Also you can look at the instructions on Hope's website?

Um... integrated I think. The cups are mostly inside the frame. I looked at the Hope website but it only seems to have an exploded diagram for the standard sort.

pretty sure mine all have a o-ring in there, to seal it against the steerer

The guys are spot on. Top cap is universal and it has an O ring:

Just looked back and it is a Hope HSC2 top

Searching for that brings up this that also shows an O-ring:

Hopefully Hope can sort me out if I call them. Guessing I dropped it somewhere in the fork transfer a few months ago ๐Ÿ˜ณ

If you don't have any luck, local plumbers merchant or B&Q.
