[#1913965]

I have been looking all over the place for an aluminium free deodorant (preferably one that works)

Any suggestions?

Don't care, something that goes in your pits and stops you smelling like a tramp.

I see you titanium and suggest a carbon based deordorant

weleda do lemon or sage smelling deodorants (note not antiperspirant) usually from health food shops

I can ride 10 miles to work and arrive sweaty but not smelly, just change shirt and never had any complaints from colleagues

Peasants.
Since swapping over to 953 based antiperspirant, not only have I started smelling of success more, but my armpits have stopped rusting.

(you know all that "aluminium deodorants give you cancer" stuff has been shown to be bollocks right?)

The only one I can use and have done now for at least 8 years is Body Shop men's Range solid stick. Never had a problem except the cost. But as I am paranoid about BO I suffer in silence. It's about £4.50 a stick. I had a £1.00 voucher for Dove Mens Sensitive and also got 2 of their new sticks in a 2-4-1 deal. Looked great as at full price it was only £2.50. Second week of use and I've got psoriasis. So back to Body Shop for me - recommended.

BTW - Lever gave me £10 vouchers when I let them know about the problem.

I use this

It's not cheap, but one stick lasts for ages and anti-perspirants only seem to work for about 4 hours on me (then i sweat 4 hours worth of sweat in about 5 minutes....ewwwww)

If that's true, you could just colour in your armpits with a HB pencil.

Nothing to do with cancer, it is just wanting to avoid using Al in my pits all my life. I guess I am turning into a hippy, but hopefully not getting to smell like one.

I like the way the pitroc blurb says
"No aluminium chlorohydrate or aluminium zirconium - both associated with underarm irritation"

Then in the ingredients say it's made of Ammonium Alum (pure natural mineral salts).

No mention that Ammonium Alum is shorthand for Ammonium aluminium sulfate, so you're still getting that healthy does of aluminium 🙂

I use pitrok

the aluminium in normal deodorant blocks the pores and causes me painful armpit lumps

not had any with pitrok

pitrok here too.
its just a stick of salt, and stops you smelling as it kills the bacteria

DO and Anti Persp are not the same thing,DO is a cover up smell, the other is a pore blocking sweat stopper.

It depends - if your oxters are in tension, you'll need alu. Oxters in compression should be OK with carbon.

Try Tom's. My partner uses the ladies one and she smells lovely.

I use Tom's deodorant stick. Don't like to use anti-perspirants because (in my head and not based on science 😯 ) I believe being able to sweat is natural and proper. So, wash clothes regularly and apply deodorant to pits rather than anti-perspirants. Works for me (and no-one's told me I stink. Yet...)

Personally, I find that steel is the way forward.
